A balanced diet, that includes different types of food, is likely to provide adequate amounts of vitamin C, and supplements are given when dietary vitamin C is not adequate. Don't take Beechams flu plus hot drinks with any other medicines that contain paracetamol or a decongestant. The active ingredients (camphor, eucalyptus oil and menthol) give a cooling effect when applied to the chest or back, or inhaled in steam.
