Description

Create your own Scottish Gin at the Gin School Experience on a beautiful copper alembic mini-still, guided by the Head Distiller. I used the A Bar Above muddler and fine strainer to DIY my own gin, so make sure to grab those if you don’t already have them! Enjoy some time out with our range of Welsh Cocktails to help you create the perfect vibe this weekend. We will then keep record of your unique recipe so we will be able to recreate your gin whenever you would like another bottle! You also receive Rose Gold cocktail spoon and double-sided jigger so you can nail the perfect serve!

The original and arguably still the best gin blending kit with a selection of classic and spicy blends. and an empty container (jug/carafe/bottle/jar) large enough to hold 70cl, ideally with a wide neck for easy removal of the botanicals. Each batch of personalised gin takes a few hours to make, however, we ask for you to allow a minimum 7 days turnaround time so that we can guarantee each batch is made with the time and care that is required.Look no further because Spirit of Wales Distillery is here to turn your celebrations into a DIY extravaganza. Whether you prefer citrus, fruit, floral spiced or a combination you will learn how to make your own unique flavour combining your botanicals. While most ‘proper’, commercial gin makers extract the flavours from botanicals through distillation, it is possible to make gin at home by simply ‘steeping’ the plants, herbs or spices you want to use in the base spirit.

We will introduce you to Belfast Artisan Distillery Gin and to some Gin Facts before walking you through the Gin School Experience journey.Whether you are staying home or going away, here are some Welsh-inspired cocktails to try every Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! Believe it or not, you can make a batch of bespoke, aromatic gin at home, without any high-tech equipment or a chemistry degree.

Oddly, the Szechuan peppercorns didn’t stand out the way I thought they would– the regular peppercorns in the first infusion were actually more obvious. Some of the most commonly used gin botanicals (after juniper) are coriander seed, angelica root, citrus peel and cinnamon – but feel free to raid the spice cabinet and herb garden. Find out what goes into your favourite Adnams products and even make your own, by joining a tour or taking part in an experience. The session starts with a tutored gin tasting, followed by advice for developing your own gin recipe. You’ll nurture your gin throughout the distillation process, taking tastings and deciding when to make the cut. In fact, while most gins undergo a second distillation, some companies do a more elaborate, commercial version of what happens in this recipe. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. We will help you develop your own recipe from a selection of provided botanicals and you will go on to distil, fill and name your personal bottle. Let us know the date you attended and the name of your Gin and you can have your very own Gin once again.

For each bottle of gin all you need is 70cl of vodka (the quality of gin you end up with depends on the vodka you start with, so choose wisely! For a stronger flavour it’s a good idea to bruise the cardamom pods and juniper berries in a pestle and mortar first. Choose from our guided distillery tours, live tasting evenings, or visit us to make your own gin or rum. Then we’ll get on to making your gin, giving you guidance on the process, what botanicals to use and how much you need. Try adding more or less of the spices listed, or adding in your own flavourings like black pepper, allspice berries or liquorice root.

We guarantee you'll feel sophisticated whilst sipping our traditional dirty martini, made with dry gin, vermouth and plump green olives. Used a still to create our own unique combination of flavours and came away with a bottle of gin (not yet opened as keeping for Christmas!
