Hallo ! Heute nach der Ansicht der Werbung eines örtlichen Uhrmachers einfach gekauft. Preis/Leistung phänomenal. Für die Preisklasse super. Hochwertig verarbeitet. 70er-Design. Cool ! Tolle Alltagsuhr. Introducing a sleek new timepiece that brings ultramodern sports styling right to your wrist, meet the Tsuyosa Automatic.... I’ve owned this model for a few weeks now after successfully securing it from Queenstown, New Zealand, and like Robert’s comments, this is a great, fun watch for summer. One of the funniest remarks I received (but also one that clearly shows what’s going on here) came from someone telling me that he has been on the waitlist for a yellow-dial Oyster Perpetual since day one. You don’t have to squint to see the resemblance to a Rolex. And other than the yellow dial, with the magnifier on the date window, the case comes across as an Oysterquartz. Someone in the office commented that it also has a bit of a Tissot PRX vibe going on, but I’d say that watch is also inspired by the Oysterquartz from 1977 (however, in those years, more brands were using this case shape). Last but certainly not least, the bracelet on the Citizen NJ0150-81Z is an instant reminder of the Rolex President bracelet that comes on the Day-Date.

The concept of the sporty-chic watch, also named luxury sports watch – that of the integrated steel watch of the 1970s made popular by AP and Genta with the Royal Oak – is hotter than ever, with interpretations found in all segments of the industry. Recently, we’ve seen serious entry-level brands entering the race, with Tissot and its PRX stealing the show. There’s now a new and very well-armed contender on the field, a new sporty-chic automatic watch with integrated bracelet coming from Japan, with an unbeatable price… Meet the new Citizen Tsuyosa Collection. After having five links removed and a micro-adjustment, the watch sits well and is a good everyday wearer and an affordable alternative away from Rolex, Omega, Tudor, or any other luxury brand. This Citizen watch has a case made of Steel silver with a diameter of 40 mm and is fitted with a Metal strap. Inside the case lies a Citizen movement and the watch features a Sapphire crystal.Again, my only gripe is the crown. It’s a tough cookie to pull out and set the time when the watch has been left idle for a few days. One of the most popular timepieces for fans of the “ Tsuyosa” collection at Citizen, the Citizen Tsuyos also known by its code name “NJ0150-81Z” deserves this status. CITIZEN TSUYOSA YELLOW AUTOMATIC NJ0150-81Z The watch is 5 ATM. This means the watch is suitable for showering. The watch comes with 2 Year Warranty. The President-style bracelet is comfortable, and the clasp has two additional holes for micro-adjustment. The bracelet has polished center links and brushed outer links. Here’s where you can see the difference in the quality with more expensive watches; the brushing is shallow but not a dealbreaker. The brushed surfaces on the case are a bit better and not that much different from the finishing on the more expensive Tissot PRX.

By taking a close look at the dial, we notice that the indexes are not the only ones to be treated with this component, but that the hour, minute and second hands are also provided. What I do like about the watch is the legibility and the clearness of the dial and the way it ‘pops’. There are definitely no issues telling the time. Inside the case, no surprise. The Tsuyosa Collection features the in-house calibre 8210, which is a pillar of the entry-level series – also shared with the Promaster watches, yet with day-date display. This automatic movement runs at 3Hz frequency and stores up to 40 hours of power reserve. It here presented in a relatively unfinished way, with golden-coloured elements. Availability & Price Since its creation in 1930, Citizen Watch has promoted a multicultural spirit that forces excellence and creativity. As a “Citizen” of the world, the brand carries an intense culture of positive change through its creations. The Japanese company, renowned for its reliability and innovations such as Eco-Drive, is now present in more than 65 countries around the world.I wish they offered it in a 36mm case. I’m becoming more and more of a curmudgeon about 40mm basic three handers, especially on a bracelet. As you can see, the watch fits my 18.5cm wrist nicely. Citizen’s NJ0150 has a diameter of 40mm and a lug-to-lug span of 49mm. The watch comes with quite a few links, and you can drive them out with a pin punch, such as the Bergeon 7230. The watch wears similarly to the PRX Automatic, I must add. Both have a 40mm diameter, whereas the long-discontinued Oysterquartz models were 36mm. The height of the Citizen NJ0150 is 11.7mm, which is quite modest for a modern and affordable watch. Finally, we appreciate the stainless steel bracelet of great strength, highlighting with the greatest success the brushed case of the watch, as well as the Sapphire glass known for its impact resistance. MANUFACTURING & MOVEMENT NIPPON This Citizen watch has a case made of stainless steel with a diameter of 40 mm and is fitted with a metal band. Inside the case lies a Citizen movement and the watch features a Sapphire crystal. The dial of the Citizen NJ0150-81Z has a sunburst finish and goes from a bit orangey in low-light conditions to bright yellow in the sun. Covered by a sapphire crystal with a “cyclops”, the yellow dial has applied hour markers filled with luminous material. The press release that Citizen sent along states, “…what makes the watch most unique is the magnifying lens over the date window…” First, I feel that that’s not entirely correct. Second, I think it would have even been a nicer watch without the date window (and thus without the magnifier). It’s not a dealbreaker, but it would have made the watch less Rolex-like and a bit cleaner in terms of design.

The first thing that will be noticed by all lovers of beautiful tocantes is probably this yellow dial, on which is superimposed a white index outline, allowing an easy reading of the time. After exposure to the sun or bright light, a punchy yellow spring indexes, obtained by a phosphor component called Luminova. This non-radioactive component allows optimal readability under multiple conditions, especially in the darkest recesses. The watch is 5ATM. This means the watch is suitable for showering. The watch comes with 2 Year Warranty. Even though this Citizen piece has an Oysterquartz vibe, there is, of course, a noticeable difference in quality right away. Let’s put it in perspective. The retail price of this Citizen NJ0150 is €279. That’s less than what I paid for one extra link for my Day-Date bracelet. Or, with some imagination, it’s the price of a MoonSwatch plus the money you spent on parking your car when getting it.
